Nongpoh, Oct 23: The 5th AHOR 4X4 Off-Road Challenges, orchestrated by the Adventurous Hynniewtrep Off Roaders, concluded with a vibrant and fiercely contested competition across various categories at Kharsati Park in Ri Bhoi District.
Over the course of three days, experienced jeep drivers and co-drivers hailing from various states in the North East, both men and women, including participants from Meghalaya, engaged in competitive events spanning SS-I, SS-II, SS-III, SS-IV, and SS-V, including a night stage competition.
The closing ceremony witnessed the presence of MB Tongper, Additional Deputy Commissioner of Ri Bhoi District, and Guest of Honor William Hek. Also in attendance were AHOR President Damian Umdor, Vice President Ferdynald K Kharkamni, and other dignitaries.
In his address, MB Tongper extended his congratulations to all the competition’s winners and expressed his delight at witnessing such extraordinary off-road driving challenges. He lauded the AHOR members for providing a platform for experienced drivers to showcase their skills and prepare for similar competitions held nationwide. He also emphasized the importance of refraining from exhibiting such driving prowess on national highways to avert any untoward incidents.
The event culminated with the distribution of prizes to the winners across different categories.
