Shillong, Oct 23: The BSF troops of 181 Bn of BSF Meghalaya seized medicines worth more than Rs 7 Lakh while being smuggled to Bangladesh from the International border of South Garo Hills, Meghalaya.
Acting on specific information, the BSF troops conducted a search operation.
The seized medicines were intended to be illegally transported across the border.

Also, in yet another case, the vigilant troops of 4 Bn BSF Meghalaya thwarted attempts of cattle smuggling by seizing 93 cattle (buffaloes) meant for smuggling to Bangladesh from the International border of West Jaintia Hills.
