Williamnagar, Nov 29: In a major step towards bringing quality healthcare to East Garo Hills district, the foundation stone for the Critical Care Block at Williamnagar Civil Hospital was officially laid by Meghalaya’s Health Minister, Dr. Mazel Ampareen Lyngdoh, on Friday.
The foundation stone of the Critical Care Block marks a significant milestone in the development of healthcare services in East Garo Hills, underscoring the government’s commitment to providing essential healthcare infrastructure to underserved regions. This new facility will serve as a vital resource for the people of Williamnagar and beyond, contributing to the overall well-being of the community and improving health outcomes across the region.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Mazel Ampareen Lyngdoh reaffirmed the state government’s dedication to further enhancing healthcare infrastructure, ensuring that the people of Meghalaya benefit from improved medical services and a better quality of life.
She also expressed her gratitude to Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma for his visionary leadership, which has played a pivotal role in advancing the healthcare sector in Meghalaya. She further acknowledged the continuous advocacy of MLA Marcuise N. Marak, whose persistence and commitment were instrumental in bringing the Critical Care Block project to fruition.
Once completed, the Critical Care Block will be equipped with state-of-the-art facilities to provide intensive medical care to patients with life-threatening conditions and critical illnesses. The unit will feature advanced monitoring systems, life-support technologies, and will be staffed by a team of highly trained healthcare professionals. This facility is expected to greatly enhance the quality of healthcare in the region, benefiting not only the residents of Williamnagar but the entire East Garo Hills district.
Williamnagar legislator and PHE Minister, Marcuise N. Marak, also expressed his deep appreciation for the continued support of Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma and Health Minister Dr. Mazel Ampareen Lyngdoh, whose collective efforts have made the project a reality. He highlighted the significance of the Critical Care Block, noting how it will provide much-needed medical support to the people of Williamnagar and East Garo Hills. He also also called on healthcare workers, especially doctors and nurses, to continue delivering compassionate and high-quality care to the public, emphasizing the importance of service with love and dedication.
The foundation stone laying ceremony was also attended by a distinguished group of dignitaries, including Commissioner Secretary of Health and Family Welfare Joram Beda, Deputy Commissioner of East Garo Hills Vibhor Agarwal, Joint Secretary of Health and Family Welfare T.G. Momin, Joint Director of Health and Family Welfare Dr. S. Boro, as well as medical professionals and local residents.
