Williamnagar, 28 June: Tura Member of Parliament (MP), Agatha K Sangma, along with the local MLA and PHE Minister, Marcuise N. Marak, conducted a comprehensive evaluation of the implementation status of various centrally sponsored schemes in East Garo Hills (EGH).

The meeting took place under the purview of the District Development Coordination and Monitoring Committee (DISHA) and witnessed the presence of notable attendees, including the Deputy Commissioner of East Garo Hills, Vibhor Aggarwal, as well as officials from pertinent departments.

One of the significant schemes discussed during the meeting was the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Gramin (PMAY-G). In this regard, Marcuise N. Marak highlighted an issue wherein some beneficiaries expressed their desire to contribute funds for the construction of roads in their respective localities. However, such contributions are not permissible, and the officials urged Block Development Officers (BDOs) to educate and persuade the beneficiaries accordingly.
