Amit Shah postpones his Assam visit

Guwahati, Apr 6: The visit of Union home minister Amit Shah has been rescheduled. Shah was slated to address election rallies in Hojai, Gohpur, and Lakhimpur in poll bound Assam on April 7 and 8 has been postponed to April 11, according to sources.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is also scheduled to visit Assam’s Nalbari on April 17, as announced by Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma.

The BJP has already announced the names of the star campaigner who will campaign in the Assam for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.

Star campaigners like union minister Smriti Irani and MP Manoj Tiwari are also likely to visit Dibrugarh constituency to campaign for the party in the next week.

Assam gears up for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections in three stages, scheduled for April 19, April 26, and May 7. With nearly 96.8 crore eligible voters across over 12 lakh polling stations, the electoral process spans seven phases starting April 19, with vote counting set for June 4.
