Shillong, Jan 25: Dr. Ampareen Lyngdoh visited the Community Health Centre in Riangdo on Wednesday. She was accompanied by , Hamletson Dohling, Macmillan Byrsat, Gigur Myrthong, Dr. Jasmine Lyngdoh, and Ransom Sutnga.
During the visit, they engaged in discussions with doctors, nurses, and technicians to address various challenges and explore potential solutions. She urged the doctors to prioritise assisting women in labour and emphasised the importance of delivering babies in the hospital under proper supervision and guidance. The aim is to ensure that mothers do not encounter any complications during childbirth.
Expressing concern over the high infant mortality rate, she conveyed optimism under the leadership of HCM Conrad K Sangma. While acknowledging the success of the MOTHER Scheme, she highlighted the government’s overarching goal of driving the infant mortality rate down to zero.
She pledged to appoint the necessary number of doctors and nurses to ensure the full functionality of the Community Health Centre (CHC). Additionally, she requested MDC Gigur Myrthong and other officials present during the visit to address and investigate the relevant matters.
In addition, she directed the officials present to compile a list of necessary equipment required to enhance the healthcare facility in the area.
