“The road from Jokai Mohabir tea estate to Barbaruah, which was an election promise has not been built yet. When the BJP government has been taken priority to construct roads then why our road remain neglected?” he asked.

“Our issues are never discussed in the parliament”, Mura added. The villagers also alleged that they were not given any benefit from the Arunodoi and Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojna (PMAY) scheme.

Recently, the Assam Tea Tribe Students’ Association (ATTSA) had urged the top BJP leadership to give ticket to fresh face from Dibrugarh constituency in the upcoming Lok Sabha election. They say that Teli has been a silent spectator to the problems of the tea tribe.
