Anti-narcotics drive in Tura, 2 peddlers arrested

Tura, June 26: A drive against narcotics and substance abuse in the town of Tura has led to the arrest of two traffickers and seizure of contraband material from two places on Friday.

Police picked up a man who had stolen a mobile phone and lifted a two wheeler scooty from the Holy Cross Hospital compound and recovered the items. During a bodily search, they found him in possession of the alleged 35 strips of the drug Spsphen totalling 280 tablets.

On the same day, another man was picked up from Wadanang area of the town with possession of cannabis, informed Tura police.

The anti-drug drive has been launched in the light of rising cases of drug abuse among the youth and on Friday as many as five raids were conducted by police on suspects.
