APCC paid tribute to former prime minister Rajiv Gandhi, his death anniversary marks anti-terrorism day

Guwahati, May 21: Assam Pradesh Congress Committee paid tribute to former Prime Minister and Bharat Ratna Rajiv Gandhi on his death anniversary at Rajiv Bhawan in Guwahati on Tuesday. The day is also observed as Anti-Terrorism Day across the nation. It is observed to educate people about the negative impact of terrorism and violence on society and the nation.

The event was attended by APCC president Bhupen Borah and senior leaders and workers from the party. APCC President Bhupen Borah said that, today, on the death anniversary of former prime minister Rajiv Gandhi, we paid tribute to his statue. His contribution for Assam and the people of Assam will never be forgotten”.

He further stated that “we are against CAA, we are signatories of the Assam Accord. BJP is making every possible effort to implement CAA. Whenever we get a chance, we will continue to fight against CAA. My hope is that after June 4, Congress and our alliance MPs will go to Parliament and raise their voice against CAA”.

Borah reacted on Assam LS seats he said, “earlier BJP had said that it will get 14 seats and Congress will get 0 seats, but now it is saying that it will get 11 seats,” he further stated.
