Itanagar, August 2: Spear Corps Warriors organised a “Know Your Army” event at Daporijo, Upper Subansiri district of Arunachal Pradesh, on Tuesday. The event was attended by more than 450 people.

The event organised was aimed at strengthening the ever existing bond amongst the civilians and the troops deployed in the forward area of Arunachal and motivating the youths to join the Indian Army.

The event was graced by the presence of the Superintendent of Police, Upper Subansiri, and officials of civil administration, including the Addl. Asst. Commissioner, District Medical Officer, and District Info Tech Officer, among others.

The event started with a Military Band playing martial tunes, putting forward an excellent show of marching discipline and coordination, and playing the musical instruments. The locals were enthralled  and enjoyed the music and the skill of the Military Band.

The weapons and equipment were also displayed at the event, where the locals and youths witnessed a wide array of weapons and equipment used in the Indian Army.

The weapons displayed at the event included Rifles, Machine guns, and optical and communication equipment. Each and every item on display was explained in simple language. The attendees also had the opportunity to witness the functioning of Thermal Imaging and the magnification power of surveillance devices.

The “Join Indian Army” corner  event was much appreciated by the youths, students, and teachers. At the event, the different avenues to join the Army, both as an officer and as a soldier, were explained, with special emphasis on the Agnipath Scheme. The procedure, benefits, and Terms and Conditions were explained to them.

A motivational movie was also shown to the people who were present at the event, showcasing the charm, the adventure, and the passion of life in the Indian Army. A small clip showing the local girl Ipupu Mena in the movie filled the viewers with exhilaration and excitement while being highly motivating at the same time.
