Guwahati, April 24: Expelled Assam Youth Congress president Angkita Dutta on Monday accused the National Indian Youth Congress (IYC) President Srinivas BV of politicising the issue of her harassment.
Speaking to reporters, Angkita Dutta said, “Srinivas BV should be ashamed of the fact that he has politicised the issue. He should face the agencies. He was summoned by CID, he should answer their questions. Why is he so afraid if he has not done anything. He better not politicise it.”
“It was not about BJP or Congress. It was about integrity, self-respect and dignity of women. I have lot of respect for APCC president Bhupen Bora. He has always been my mentor, he has taught me a lot. But the things is that I was in his house and he had told me that Srinivas BV would not file any defamation against me. He told me that he will discuss the matter with him and try to solve the matter but before I reached the home, Srinivas BV tweeted a defamation against me. He (Bhupen Bora) could not keep the word of the commitment as the APCC president. Srinivas BV is so powerful,” the former Assam Youth Congress president said.

The All India Congress Committee (AICC) on Saturday expelled Angkita Dutta from the primary membership of the party for six years for her alleged ‘anti-party activities’.
On Thursday last, Angkita had also filed a police complaint against Srinivas at the Dispur Police Station for continuously harassing her over her gender for almost six months.
The Assam Police on Sunday also served a notice to Srinivas to appear before it at 11 am on May 2, 2023, over the harassment complaint filed by Angkita.
