Guwahati, Mar 16: In an interesting move to promote the movie ‘The Kashmir Files’, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Tuesday said that all employees of the state government can avail a half-day holiday to watch the recently released film.
Glad to announce that our Govt employees will be entitled for half-day special leave to watch #TheKashmirFiles.
They will have to only inform their superior officers and submit the tickets the next day. pic.twitter.com/RNQzOk9iCK

Sharma, his entire cabinet, MLAs from BJP, its allies AGP and UPPL had all got together to watch the movie at a PVR theater in Guwahati on Tuesday evening.
The Kashmiri Pandit genocide & their exodus are a blot on humanity.
Moved by the heart-wrenching portrayal of their plight in #TheKashmirFiles, which I watched along with my Cabinet colleagues and MLAs of @BJP4Assam & allies.
Kudos @vivekagnihotri & co for holding out the truth pic.twitter.com/Li8deBW9Ld

The state govt employees can avail the special half-day leave to watch The Kashmir Files by presenting the copy of their tickets to their departmental heads.
“We all got emotional watching the movie, the sordid truth about exodus of the Kashmiri pundits, which was kept hidden. The act of the terrorists was heinous and no one should take it on religious lines. A terrorist can be from any religion,” Sarma told media after watching the movie.
