Guwahati, Jan 29: A cadre of Kamatapur Liberation Organisation (KLO-KN) was arrested by the Gauripur police in Assam’s Dhubri district this Sunday evening.
The arrested cadre has been identified as Kanak Adhikary.
According to police, Kanak Adhikary was trapped & arrested red-handed by them while accepting ransom from a Gauripur-based businessman.
Arrested Adhikary has been booked under different provisions of law.
It needs to be mentioned that the KLO-KN is a breakaway faction of the KLO, which is fighting for a separate Kamatapur state comprising parts of both Assam and West Bengal.
“We are interrogating Kanak Adhikary to get more information about his associates and their activities,” said a police official.
