Dibrugarh, Oct 18: A woman has been arrested for allegedly murdering of her 5-year-old son in Margherita in eastern Assam’s Tinsukia on Thursday.

The woman has been identified as Supriya Bhattacharya, a resident near the old Ramakrishna Vidyapith School in No. 1 Lajum, Margherita.

According to reports, her minor son Abhimanyu Chakraborty had been missing since Durga puja festivities.

According to reports, his mother filed a First Information Report (FIR) on October 11, prompting local authorities to launch an investigation into the child’s disappearance.

“We have launched an investigation and during questioning to Supriya, we have found the women has killed her own son,” said a police source.
