Assam: One arrested in Nagaon’s firing incident, victim undergoing treatment

Guwahati, Jun 27: One person has been arrested after a firing incident was reported in Assam’s Nagaon district.

The person has been identified as Inamul Hassan.

He was arrested on Tuesday in connection with the firing matter from Ham-Ak Rural College of Education

Two youths on a two wheeler had opened fire at Hafizur Rahman a businessman and a coordinator of Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Jan-Aushadhi Yojana, when he was on his way to his home.

After firing at the businessman, both the miscreants escaped from the scene leaving Hafizur seriously injured.

According to reports, three accused identified as Inamul, Hyder and Ikramul, had taken Rs 3 lakh from Hafizur in the name of providing certificate from an institute.

When Hafizur found out that the institute was fake, he demanded his money back after which this firing incident took place.

Currently, the victim Hafizur is undergoing treatment at Gauhati Medical College and Hospital.
