Boko, May 17: The Bhogdabari Primary School, established in 1942 during the British era, felicitated the students who passed the recently announced High School Leaving Certificate (HSLC) and Higher Secondary (HS) Examinations. This initiative was led by the school headmaster, Swadhin Boro, along with the teachers and other staff who want to encourage the students to move forward in their careers.
Swadhin Boro, Headmaster, leads such activities every year to encourage the students to educate themselves in every way possible. A total of 21 students who recently passed out in the HSLC and HS Examinations were felicitated during the program.
On this occasion, the School governing body organized a program in the school premises. Students who studies in this school and cleared the respective exams were felicitated. The event was attended by a large number of parents and students, as well as distinguished guests. The president of the School governing committee, Amrit Boro, presided over the program.
It is worth mentioning that the School is located in Bhogdabari village in the Kamrup district. The Boro tribal people who inhabit Bhogdabari village have a total population of around 700 and 70 students studying in the Bhogdabari Primary School.
The head of the Mathematics Department at Jawaharlal Nehru College, Boko, Professor Dr. Dhiraj Kumar Das, advised the students to be educated with better quality and modern Education among the younger generation and become an inspiration to the new students. He also said that Education is like a ladder, by climbing it, one can reach the peak of life.
CRC of the Boko block education sector Papori Sharma advised the students to study to make their lives meaningful through Education. Each guest offered advice on the students’ excellence and, intellectual knowledge and skills.
The School headmaster, Swadhin Boro, said that many of the students who have passed out from this primary School are working and retired in various departments, such as SDOs in the Agriculture Department, M.Tech, Junior Commission Officers in the Indian Army, Assistant Engineers in refinery sectors, soldiers in the Indian Army, Indian Paramilitary, and teachers and professors.
Professors Alok Das and Pinaki Rabha of Jawaharlal Nehru College, Boko High School principal Rajesh Mahanta, teachers Keshav Boro and Shankar Boro, teacher and artist Deviram Boro, the village headman Kanteswar Boro, and many others took part in the program as guests.
