Guwahati, Aug 4: In a heartbreaking incident, three elephants have been electrocuted in Assam, adjacent to the Rani Reserve Forest.
The cause of death is electrocution, and it was an accident, as it is seen in the preliminary investigation.
They were electrocuted after the female elephant and two calves came to the garden and tried to pull a tree, due to which the tree came into contact with the live wires, leading to electrocution.
DFO of Kamrup East Division Rohini Saikia said that they are already looking into the matter, and are also in touch with APDCL because similar instances have happened before.
He said that they had already requested APDCL to put concealed wires wherever live wires are hanging.
