Assam’s image branding, Jaishankar in Guwahati with 60 head of mission

Guwahati, Feb 23: External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar arrived in Guwahati this evening along with a delegation of over 60 heads of missions from foreign countries to attend the Advantage Assam 2.0.

The visit, facilitated by a chartered flight, aims to showcase the Assam’s potential business and investment opportunities.

During their trip, the diplomats will have the opportunity to experience the rich cultural heritage of Assam, including witness mega Jhumur dance performance to be performed by 9000 plus dancers.

They will also visit the iconic Kaziranga National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and attend a business summit to explore investment opportunities in the state.

According to Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, the state government’s focus during the visit will be to convince countries with negative travel advisories against Assam to withdraw them.

By showcasing the state’s peaceful atmosphere and potential, the government hopes to boost tourism and investment in the region.

This diplomatic outreach is part of India’s efforts to strengthen its relations with foreign countries and promote its eastern states as viable investment destinations.

As Jaishankar leads the delegation, he will leverage his experience and expertise to foster meaningful connections and dialogue between the visiting diplomats and Assam’s stakeholders.
