Battle against Drugs: Prestone says police relentlessly fighting against drug trafficking

Shillong, Nov 14: The Meghalaya government along with the police department is working to end the drug supply in the state at the earliest.

This was informed by Meghalaya deputy chief minister Prestone Tynsong who is also incharge of home department. He stated the recent disposal of drugs was a beginning and that citizens can expect more to be done in the days to come.

“The police team hardly sleeps as far as fight against drugs is concerned; we are trying our best to nab the suppliers of drugs. Concerning addicts, we need the help of the locality or the shnong and family members to end the supply,” he said.

Asked about the weakness of the system since the recent viral video of a woman selling drugs in broad daylight has raised several questions, the minister was caught unaware that the woman was selling drugs.

However, the Home Minister urged the public that in case they have any suspicion, they should willingly come forward and inform. He assured that they will not disclose their names; they can simply come and inform, and police will be there.
