Agartala, Mar 6: Former chief minister of Tripura Biplab Kumar Deb has been named as BJP candidate for West Tripura Lok Sabha seats replacing the sitting minister of state for social welfare and empowerment Pratima Bhoumik.
Addressing a press conference here, Biplab Kumar Deb, who is also a Rajya Sabha MP said, “I thank the BJP leadership for giving me an opportunity to serve the people of Tripura. In 2018, we have ushered change in Tripura by ousting the communist party which had ruled Tripura for many years. I become the chief minister of Tripura and remain CM for four and half years. Now, again BJP leadership has given me the opportunity and fielded me from West Tripura Lok Sabha seat,”.
“We made historical change in Tripura by defeating the communist party. The people of Tripura showered love to me during my tenure as Tripura chief minister. I worked for the development of the state during my term,” Deb said.
=He further added, “PM Narendra Modi always thinks for Tripura because he love the state. I urged the people of the state to go with Narendra Modi and give blessing to me for the development of the state,”.
The party’s nomination of Deb has brought a wave of celebration among the followers. Tripura chief minister Manik Saha has also congratulated him for being nominated as candidate of the party.
