Itanagar, Mar 13: The Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) on Wednesday released the name of its candidates for all 60-member Legislative assembly seats in Arunachal Pradesh.
Chief minister Pema Khandu will be contesting from Mukto seat while Deputy chief minister Chowna Mein will be contesting from Chowkham.
However, Home minister Bamang Felix (Nyapin seat), Industries Minister Tumke Bagra (Aalo West), and Agriculture Minister Tage Taki (Ziro-Hapoli) were not given tickets by the party.
On the other hand, three Congress MLAs who recently switched allegiance to the BJP have been included in the party’s list of candidates. The party has put forward four woman candidates, one of who is relatively new to politics. Chakat Aboh(Khonsa West), Dasanglu Pal (Hayulliang), Nyabi Jini Dirchi(Basar) and Tsering Lhamu(Lumia).
The Legislative assembly polls in the northeastern state are held along with Lok Sabha elections. The BJP had bagged 41 seats out of 60 seats in the 2019 assembly polls.
