Shillong, Dec 9: BJP in Meghalaya organized a protest in Shillong on Saturday to draw people’s attention to the kind of corrupt practices that the Congress party has been indulging in.
This comes after Income Tax recovered over Rs 300 crores in cash, with the counting still going on, from Congress Rajya Sabha MP Dhiraj Sahu’s properties in Odisha.
The numerous karyakartas and morcha members who turned up at the BJP’s Shillong Office, raised slogans like ‘C- for Congress, C – for Corruption’ and ‘Down Down Congress’.
Speaking to the media, BJP Chief Spokesperson, Mariahom Kharkrang said, “For years these parties have been indulging in corrupt practices under the garb of promoting secularism. At BJP, we have a zero tolerance towards corruption. This is people’s money and every penny of this ill-gotten wealth must be returned to the people.”
Similar protests were staged by BJP in other parts of the country.
