Shillong, Dec 23: On the eve of Christmas, the BJP on Friday promised to give the gift of development to the state in the next 5 years.
BJP Meghalaya President, Ernest Mawrie, said the BJP is preparing a 100-day priority program which will list out result oriented action-plans that the party will implement within 100 days of assuming office. Mawrie said the party promises to have quantifiable deliverables against which the people of the state would be able to accurately measure the party’s performance.
Mawrie said that for the last 50 years, the people of the state have placed their hopes on different successive governments to help them realise their dreams.
He said that the people have been time and again lured by the sweet talking once-in-five-years politicians who have dotted the political landscape of Meghalaya forever. However, the people are now more aware than ever. “The BJP government at the Centre and in the various states of the country have all delivered development in their respective jurisdictions. Even our neighbouring state of Assam is growing by leaps and bounds under the BJP while we look on,” he said adding that the people now trust Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the BJP.
Further, Mawrie stated that any development seen in Meghalaya in the last five years has been because of Central Government schemes only, irrespective of whether the state government tried to appropriate the schemes by changing their names or not.
He also extended the warmest Christmas greetings to all the people of Meghalaya.
