Tripura, July 27: CPM Tripura secretary Jitendra Chaudhury on Wednesday claimed that BJP had a secret understanding with the TIPRA Motha.
Chaudhury’s statement came after the TIPRA Motha allegedly hinted that it could approach other Opposition parties if its talk with the BJP-led Centre over the greater Tipraland demand do not work out.
“Securing just 39-40 per cent votes, the party (BJP) formed its government due to division of votes and secret understanding with the TIPRA Motha party,” Chaudhury said while addressing a street corner meeting at Kamalpur after submitting a 23-point charter of demands to the sub-divisional magistrate.
The demands include the overall development of the Dhalai district, and improvement of road and rail infrastructure, among others.
The TIPRA Motha secured the status of the main Opposition party replacing CPM. Both the CPM and the Congress contested the polls together.
