“We are of the opinion that the party should prepare to contest the upcoming elections to the Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council (KHADC) and Jaintia Hills Autonomous District Council (JHADC),” he told reporters.

According to him, so far, the party has received application for ticket from only two aspirants in Ri Bhoi district.

The party has one MDC in the Garo Hills Autonomous District Council (GHADC).

Hek, however, said that the party would not want to contest the MDC elections just for the sake of contesting the election. “Therefore, the winnability of the candidates should be taken into consideration (while allotting a party ticket),” he stated.

According to him, the party will start its preparation for contesting the MDC elections.
