Tura, July 24: A 14 year old boy lost his life when a bluetooth speaker he was charging exploded at his house in Baghmara, south Garo Hills on Sunday afternoon.

According to police, the victim Jingjang M Sangma was given a bluetooth speaker by his friend and he had just put it into a plug hole and switched it on to charge when it exploded in the room at Bolsalgre locality of Baghmara.

The explosion was so intense it threw the victim backwards and his face and hands were badly damaged. He died on the spot. The explosion damaged other items in the room and the blast shook the house, it was reported. Police teams are at the spot to investigate the explosion.
