Tura, May 6: In an absolute thrilling match, on Wednesday, BOCA Juniors emerged victorious with a 2-1 win eliminating their opponent, West Balalgre Club, in the second semi final round of the Tura Football League super division match at the P. A. Sangma stadium.
As the match commenced, West Balalgre opened the scoring early with a smashing goal by Mathen Marak in the 4th minute, with a low shot from the left hand side.
BOCA Juniors seemed to struggle pushing past Balalgre’s defense during most of the first half but in the 45th minute, Salrim Sangma found the back of the net equalising the scoreline.
Returning from half time, both the teams were static with the scoring and failed to connect their passes. West Balalgre were seen maintaining a decent ball possession initially but were unsuccessful in converting some clear chances, whereas the BOCA Juniors tried their best for a comeback but missed numerous clear opportunities.
The ninety minutes of match time ended with no scores recorded from the two sides and thirty minutes of extra time was allotted, keeping the crowd on edge.
The silence broke into an uproar when Bamty Sangma broke the deadlock with a goal in the 91st minute, creating a lead for BOCA Juniors.
Silbal Sangma of BOCA Juniors received the only yellow card of the match in the 92nd minute.
The final whistle declared BOCA Juniors as the winner and has moved on to face Selsella SA in the third semi final round. The winner in the third elimination round will be locking horns with the reigning leader, Chipakkore FC, in the finals.
