Boko, Feb 24: A serious road accident on NH-17 in Shingra reserve forest area under Boko Police Station. The accident occurred when a Honda WR-V collided with a parked truck from behind.

The vehicle was identified as ML 08 F 0821 and the cement truck was identified as AS 01 AA 9770. The accident occurred while the vehicle was traveling towards Tura on Friday night around 10:30 pm.

A couple, Chonme Sangma, 55 and her husband Henry Sangma, 55, were seriously injured in the accident.

Boko Police had reached the spot immediately and the injured couple were admitted to Boko Primary Health Center but were shifted to Guwahati Medical College Hospital for further treatment.

According to the sources, the couple are engineers of the Meghalaya Urban Development Authority.
