This chilling revelation was made by the outfit in a press statement on Thursday, claiming that the bombs were placed across various locations in Assam to disrupt the 78th Independence Day celebrations.

It said the bombs were strategically placed in multiple areas of Upper Assam, including Sivasagar, Dibrugarh, Guwahati, and Lower Assam.

ULFA-I said it had planted bombs in at least 19 places across Assam in order to register their “armed protest” against the celebrations. However, it claimed that a “technical error” prevented the detonation of the explosives.
