BSF hands over Bangladeshi minor boy to BGB

Shillong, Dec 26: Exhibiting goodwill gesture towards friendly neighbouring nation, BSF Meghalaya handed over a Bangladeshi minor boy to Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) on International Border of South Garo Hills.

The boy was inadvertently crossed the International Boundary and entered into Indian territory on December 25, 2022, PRO of BSF Meghalaya said in a press statement on Monday.

The statement further stated that the patrolling party of BSF outpost Rongra under 43 Bn BSF intercepted the boy while he was roaming near the International Border. The boy disclosed that he was not aware of the alignment of international boundary and entered into Indian territory unintentionally.

The minor was identified as Sahid (15 yrs) s/o Abdul Hamid resident of Goragaon village under Netrakona district, Bangladesh.

Border Guard Bangladesh praised good will gesture by BSF during the meeting in which the boy was handed over to them, the PRO said.
