Cash seized in Odisha on eve of lok sabha polls

Odisha, June 1: Women allegedly found distributing cash in Balasore on the eve of elections.

Ahead of the final phase of elections in Odisha, the BJP alleged some Self Help Group (SHG) women members were allegedly distributing money at Mission Shakti Bhavan on the premises of Remuna block in Balasore district on Friday evening.

Following the allegation by BJP MLA candidate Govind Charan Das, the flying squad rushed to the spot and conducted a raid and seized an amount of Rs 1,18,000.

Three women reportedly fled from the spot after the incident.

According to reports, a special flying squad conducted the raid and seized the money kept in black polythene bags with names of various panchayats written on them.
