Meghalaya Legislative Assembly Speaker, Thomas A. Sangma, on Friday said he is waiting for Congress leader and incumbent Leader of the Opposition (LO), Ronnie V. Lyngdoh, to submit his resignation from the post, as the party no longer has the requisite numbers in the Assembly to allow him to continue in the role.

Following the recent setback, the opposition Congress has decided to move court against the merger of its three MLAs with the ruling National People’s Party (NPP) even as it will soon take a call on whether to pull out of executive committee in the Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council (KHADC).
