Guwahati, Aug 29: A High-Level Committee (HLC) chaired by Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation Amit Shah has approved an additional ₹153.36 crore in central assistance for Manipur, which was severely affected by hailstorms in 2024. This supplementary support is over and above the funds already allocated by the Centre under the SDRF. Reaffirming the government’s commitment to supporting states during natural disasters, the Ministry highlighted that, under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, the Central Government continues to stand in solidarity with state governments during times of calamity.
