Tura, Nov 30: The last match of Round of 16 matches of the Tura Champions Trophy was held at the GBHSS Artificial Football Turf, Chandmary on Thursday.

The match was played between Chipakkore FC vs Babelapara SYC on Thursday.

At halftime, Chipakkore FC led 1-0, securing an early advantage. However, in the second half, Chipakkore FC extended their lead with another goal, securing a decisive victory over Babelapara SYC, who managed to score a solitary goal in the second half but couldn’t catch up

Chipakkore FC’s Samuel Shadap Earns Player of the Match Honors. The Quarterfinals of the Tournament Commence on December 1st, Concluding on December 2nd, with Eight Qualifying Clubs in the Fray.

Teams qualified for Quarter Finals include:

1. Selsella Sports Association
2. West Balalgre Club
3. Maram FC
4. Chandmary FC
5. Druma Sandruma
6. WI Spirits FC
7. Greenwood Darenggre
8. Chipakkore FC

The District football association of Tura has also kept a close watch on the performance of the players at every match so that they can filter the best of the best for an Invitational football tournament at Mawkyrwat at 8th December 2023 for the Tura United football club which is a project team under DFA.

A total of 16 teams have been invited the Tournament out of which Tura United Football club has received the invitation.

Speaking to Hub News Dr. Gino A Sangma, Secy, DFA said “This tournament has given us the opportunity to identify talented players who will excel in future with proper guidance and training. But as of now we are choosing the best for that Tournament happening at Mwkyrwat and the chosen will be playing under TUFC.”

Coming back to The Tura Champions Trophy, the final is supposed to happen at PA Sangma Football Stadium on 11th Dec.
