‘CM Care+’ scheme already rolled-out for healthcare coverage beyond MHIS: Ampareen

Shillong, March 19: Health Minister Ampareen Lyngdoh on Wednesday said the department has already started implementation of the newly launched scheme “CM Care+” which seeks to improve access to healthcare support in addition to the Meghalaya Health Insurance Scheme (MHIS).

Speaking to media persons, Lyngdoh said the new scheme offered an increased coverage of Rs 5 lakh. CM Care+ fills gaps in MHIS for critical care treatments and treatments not covered by MHIS.

She said that new scheme will benefit beneficiaries who have exhausted MHIS-PMJAY coverage, or require financial support for treatments not covered under MHIS

According to her, the approval process for CM Care+ cases at 2 levels: district-level for up to Rs 2 lakhs & state-level for Rs 2-5 lakh.

She however said that government employees (state & central) and their dependents are not eligible to apply for the new scheme.
