Shillong March 9: The arrest of a notorious interstate drug peddler and seizure of high grade heroin valued at Rs 75 Lakh in Ri Bhoi district by Meghalaya police has been hailed by Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma.
Taking to X ( formerly Twitter) the chief minister lauded the commendable efforts of the state force and expressed his appreciation for their dedicated hard work in fighting the menace of drug smuggling in the state.
He extended congratulations to Ri-Bhoi Police for the adept intelligence gathering and subsequent action that led to a significant drug seizure, amounting to Heroin valued at ₹75 Lakh, and the apprehension of a notorious interstate trafficker.
The success story further extended to East Khasi Hills district where further investigstion culminated in the arrest of two additional traffickers, along with ₹1 lakh in cash and a vehicle, in the state capital Shillong.
“This swift and decisive action thwarted the sinister intentions of drug suppliers,” twitted the Chief Minister Sangma while applauding DGP L R Bishnoi and his team for their relentless dedication in service.
The chief minister reiterated his government’s unwavering commitment to combatting the menace of drugs and ensuring the safety of the people of the state.
