Adokgre, May 25: Chief minister Conrad K Sangma on Saturday ordered an immediate probe to ascertain the quality of work of the Adokgre RMSA school following complaints from the public about substandard work by the contractor.
The chief minister made a surprise visit to Adokgre on Saturday afternoon and took a tour of the school building with district officials before announcing the probe.
“I have directed the deputy commissioner to immediately constitute a probe and submit its findings to me. Though I am not an engineering expert, yet, it looks like the work quality is not up to the mark in some places. We will get to know once the expert committee looks into it,” said the chief minister who swift action has been lauded by citizens of North Garo Hills.
In a terse message to contractors, the chief minister urged them to do justice to their work by ensuring standard quality of work.
“When work is alloted to you, we expect quality of service. We will not tolerate substandard work in any government projects,” warned the chief minister.
