Shillong, Nov 24: Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma flagged off over 200 vehicles for Meghalaya Police.
CM flagged off 80 Boleros vehicles and campers, 140 motorcycles and 6 cranes for Meghalaya Police.
This is the biggest single procurement order ever made in the history of the Department.
“These vehicles and motorcycles will help our police personnel in their mobility, to swiftly perform their duties and serve the people better,” CM Sangma said at the launch event.

Also present on the occasion were Deputy CM in-charge Home Prestone Tynsong and Deputy CM Sniawbhalang Dhar, Health Minister Ampareen Lyngdoh among others.
“We also distributed equipment for our Shillong Traffic Police and handed over computers, laptops and other IT equipment to our officers in the various Districts,” the CM added.
He informed that the government’s endeavour to reform the Police Department through provision of infrastructure is ongoing and this huge procurement will assist the department in rendering their services to the people of the state.
