CM to leave for Delhi on Sunday; meeting with Amit Shah on the card

Shillong, Feb 6: Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad Sangma who is leaving for New Delhi on Sunday will meet as many as 15 Union Ministers to follow up on different schemes and projects.

Speaking to media in Shillong, the Chief Minister said that the issues related to road construction, agriculture, sports and tourism, were some of the key focus areas, which will be taken up with different ministries. On the issue of ILP, the chief minister said that the resolution on ILP has been passed by the State Assembly and the MDA government will continue to engage with the concern ministry to pursue the matter.

Notably, the visit of the Chief Minister to New Delhi assumes much significance as Union Home Minister Amit Shah, during his recent visit to Shillong had asked the CM led by Meghalaya cabinet to call on him in Delhi.

Deputy Chief Minister Prestone Tynsong, who is already in Delhi had said that Office of the Chief Minister is in touch with Ministry of Home to seek an appointment for State cabinet ministers as well as facilitate meeting of civil society groups from the State with Union Home Minister.
