Guwahati, May 15: In a recent attempt to smuggle contraband via air travel, a foreign national was arrested from Guwahati Airport today with 36 pellets of cocaine concealed inside his stomach.

The smuggler, identified as Reinhard Sirait (33) from Jakarta, Indonesia, was apprehended by security personnel during a routine check. X-ray scans revealed multiple pellets filled with cocaine inside his stomach.

Following his arrest, Sirait was detained and shifted to Gauhati Medical College Hospital (GMCH). Doctors successfully extracted the 36 pellets by performing surgery. He will be handed over to police for further legal proceedings.
