CoMSO to chalk out action plan to seek Govt intervention on ILP

Shillong, Dec 9: The Confederation of Meghalaya Social Organizations (CoMSO) will hold a meeting on Saturday to decide on the next course of action to pressure the government for the implementation of Inner Line Permit (ILP) and Meghalaya Residents Safety and Security (Amendment) Bill.

Speaking to reporters here on Wednesday, chairman of CoMSO, Robert Kharjahrin said that the state government, the MLAs, MDCs and the MPs should take up the matter in right earnest with the Union government.

He spoke to reporters after meeting the Speaker of Meghalaya Legislative Assembly Metbah Lyngdoh who is also the president of the United Democratic Party, an ally in the MDA government.

As for leading an all party delegation to Delhi, the Speaker had informed them that it is up to the wisdom of the government on how to pursue ILP.

On the other hand, the CoMSO chief said that the ILP, MRSSA should be a public issue and appealed to the public to restart their strategies to pressure the government to implement ILP and the MRSSA
