Shillong, March 14: The Meghalaya Pradesh Youth Congress (MPYC) including the Mahila Congress members staged a protest against the Citizenship Amendment Act 2019 (CAA) outside the Meghalaya BJP office in Shillong on Thursday.
The Congress Youth members marched towards BJP office with placards and raised slogans against the CAA.
MPYC President Adrian Chyne Mylliem while speaking to media, said that while Meghalaya is under the Sixth Schedule states and exempt from the CAA, the protest is against the bill’s implications for the entire country, deeming it anti-minority.
Additionally, Congress workers protested in Police Bazar and in the Garo Hills district.
