Shillong, Feb 2: A day after the Union Finance Minister presented with the Union Budget for 2021-22. Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma call this budget a positive budget.
CM Conrad Sangma said, there will be a huge push when it comes to issues regarding farmers and even in the health sector.
“This is going to be a very positive budget with a very positive impact on the economy and the push that is required is going to be there,” Sangma said even as he mentioned this as a very welcome budget.
“I am sure it will have the necessary impact to restart the economy of the country,” the Chief Minister added.
Asked about petrol price hike and if there is any chance for the Government to look forward to reducing it, the CM said, “We will examine the matter and then we will see what kind of impact it will have on our resources and at the same time we will also see that it should not impact the common people too much, so balancing both this factor we will see what can be best done and we will examine the matter and see how to move forward.”
Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Monday announced agriculture infrastructure and development cess (AIDC) of Rs 2.5 per litre on petrol and Rs 4 per litre on diesel to improve agricultural infrastructure in the country.
