Tura, July 21: Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma will be visiting Tura on July 24, 2023, to engage in discussions and listen to various matters and grievances concerning civil society members of Garo Hills.
This comes following the indefinite hunger strike launched by ACHIK opposite the mini-secretariat in Tura, demanding Winter Capital in Tura and backlog recruitment policy or retrospective implementation of reservation roster system.
A circular from the office of Deputy Commissioner of West Garo Hills, a copy of which is available with Hub News, states that the Chief Minister will be meeting NGOs, pressure groups and interest groups from 1:30 PM to 3 PM at the conference hall of Tura Circuit House to discuss issues such as the implementation of roster system and demand for winter capital.
The DC has urged all interested groups to arrive at the Circuit house by 1 PM and register themselves.
Additionally, NGOs and Social groups wishing to participate in the meeting have been instructed to submit their application with the following details:
