Tura, Sept 21: Following the accusations of bribery against a PHE official posted in Bajengdoba in North Garo Hills, the Contractors Association of Bajengdoba Sub Division (CABSD) have come to the defence of the official.

While the bribery case is already in the High Court of Meghalaya and veracity of the allegations remains to be seen, the Contractors’ association said they have been in significant distressed because of the news.

Vehemently condemning any form of corruption and illegal activities, they have sought thorough investigation of the allegations through appropriate legal channels.

However, coming to the defence of the accused official, Sub Divisional Officer, PHE, Kedia G Momin, they said the concerned official has played a pivotal role in expediting the long-pending Third-Party Inspections of nearly 40 projects, which shows her commitment and efficiency.

They further urged all parties involved to maintain the sanctity of the legal process and allow the truth to prevail. “It is our hope that the ongoing legal proceedings will provide clarity on the matter,” they said.
