CPC Garo Hills’ yeoman service at the height of crisis

Tura, June 1: As the Covid pandemic ravages through the state along with the whole country, theĀ  Central Puja Committee (CPC), Garo Hills, Tura Unit has been providing assistance to more than 25 families with relief materials (rations), to self-employed widows and extremely needy people who were basically running small shops on the roadside and have dependents to feed (as their shops were closed) since May 17 onwards after proper verification.

These reliefs are provided to the needy irrespective of caste and religion through the fund generated among the members and like-minded parties. CPC also distributed sanitizers, soaps and masks to the needy people of different localities.

Additionally, as a mark of appreciation and gratitude to the health care workers, CPC visited and distributed snacks, sweets and fruit juices to Dobashipara Urban Health Centre, Sampalgre and Matchakolgre Primary Health Centres where vaccination is going on. In the meantime, CPC also visited Corona Care Centre at SMELC, Tura Civil Hospital, Tura Christian Hospital, Holy Cross Hospital and also Maternity and Child Hospital along with snacks, sweets and fruit juices to thank and appreciate the health care workers for working day and night in order to save the lives of the general public.

CPC also reached out to all policemen who are doing duties on the main roads of Tura and appreciated their efforts with food packets and fruit juices.
