The gathering was a harmonious blend of CRPF personnel, their families, educators, students, and local inhabitants from the West Garo Hills area. Leading the way, Pramod Kumar Singh, the Commandant of the 120 BN CRPF, inaugurated the event by planting a mango sapling himself. His inspiring speech served to motivate the participants, rightly referred to as the ‘green warriors’, who had assembled for the noble cause.

Commandant Pramod Kumar Singh used this occasion to stress the significance of forest conservation and environmental awareness, particularly among the younger generation. He emphasized the necessity of reducing our carbon footprint and working towards bequeathing a greener planet to future generations.

The event saw the collective effort of planting various saplings, predominantly fruit-bearing trees such as mango, Jammun, Neem, and orange. These tree species hold ecological importance and contribute to the enhancement of the local environment.

The main objective of this awareness initiative was to instil a sense of environmental sensitivity among CRPF personnel, their families, school students, and the general populace of Garo Hills. By actively involving them in the plantation drive, the organizers sought to foster a deeper understanding of the significance of nurturing our surroundings.

The participation was robust, with both attendees and department officials enthusiastically planting saplings throughout the premises. This collaborative effort not only added more greenery to the surroundings but also symbolized a commitment to preserving the environment.
