Gangtok, Dec 11: Tibetan spiritual leader, His Holiness the Dalai Lama, on Monday, marking the commencement of his four-day visit to the region.He was graciously received at the Libing Helipad by Chief Minister Prem Singh Golay, along with a gathering of esteemed dignitaries and devoted followers.
Senior Sikkim state government officials and representatives from the Tibetan Parliament, Tibetan Settlement Office and Local Tibetan Assembly were also present to greet the revered spiritual leader.
Taking to X, CM welcomed His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama and also shared a series of pictures.

Following the warm reception at the helipad, the spiritual ambiance in Gangtok intensified as monks from diverse monasteries across the state came together to orchestrate a traditional Buddhist ritual. The mesmerising dance and prayer ceremony, known as ‘Sherbang,’ was also performed, infusing the air with a profound sense of spiritual energy.
On Tuesday morning, he will also be giving one-day teaching on Gyalsey Thokme Sangpo’s 37 Practices of a Boddhisattava (Laklen Sodunma) at Paljor Stadium in Gangtok. Dalai Lama will also be virtually laying the foundation stones of Karmapa Park project at Rumtek and Gyalwa Lhatsun Chenpo Statue project at Simmik Khamdong constituency, Gangtok district.
