Damaitphang Lyngdoh and Helen Nongtdu included in the 50-Men Probable List of India U-23 squad

Shillong, July 23: Local boys Damaitphang Lyngdoh and Helen Nongtdu has been included in the 50-Men Probable List of India U-23 squad.

Damaitphang Lyngdoh hailing from Umlyngka, Upper Shillong Meghalaya, is a Bengaluru FC (aka Blues) graduate, playing for the Blues Under 16, Under 18 and the Bengaluru B side in several occasions as a Midfielder. He was also included in the Bengaluru FC squad for the 2022-23 Indian Super League (ISL) season.

Lyngdoh has made couple of appearance for the senior side making him the youngest ever first team debutant this season and has been named the 2020-21 Upcoming Player of the Season.

Whilst, Nongtdu who is currently playing for the ISL champions Mumbai FC rose through the ranks in the age-group sides of Pune-based club DSK Shivajians. At 17, the young center-back was brought into the Indian Arrows set up where he became an integral part of the Arrows’ setup.

Nongtdu has had a steady rise through the junior National Team, all the way through the U15s to the U20s. Alongside current Mumbai City forward Gurkirat Singh, Nongtdu is one of the captains of the India U20 side and recently led India to the SAFF U20 Championship title in Bhubaneshwar before representing the Blue Tigers at the U20 AFC Asian Cup Qualifiers in Kuwait.
