Shillong, Dec 11: Deputy chief minister Prestone Tynsong on Monday lashed out at the opposition Voice of the People Party (VPP) for playing politics on the issue of relocating the 342 families from Them Iew Mawlong.
Tynsong was irked with VPP for their lack of interest in showing keenness to resolve the long-pending issue. He stated that enough was enough and that they should avoid playing politics and let us, who know the gravity of the issue, try and resolve it.
Earlier, VPP MLA Adelbert Nongrum expressed disappointment, questioning how the number of affected families that will require resettlement at public expense has reportedly jumped from 184 to 342.
